Like Me

Sometimes I don't like having so much influence. I don't want their actions to reflect how I'm feeling.

Last week was rough. I came down with a head cold and then yesterday, I was throwing up all the freaking day long. 

These past months, life has been upended.

I've been tired and ornery and fussy and in turn, so has he. 

But not today. 

Today we worked hard to be more ourselves. To laugh and play and un-upend things.

To give each other the benefit of the doubt. 

To love. 

The two of us? I think we needed this day.
