Girl in the Middle

The children are with a friend for a couple of hours. At times when they're with me, a voice seems to be bouncing around inside of my head screaming for just a little quiet.

But now I miss them.

I'm trying to get a few things done, but the other child...the one safely floating inside of me makes me want to curl up for a nap.

By the way, we found out that the other one is a boy.

  5. A boy! Ahhhh....how fun. I'm totally trying to figure out how to remain calm in the chaos. My heads spins most days. I guess that's not encouraging...7 1/2 years after becoming a mom I haven't figured it out. You're a quicker learner than I. Peace, peace, peace. :)

  8. Congratulations on the boy!!! I know the feeling. Sometimes I want time to myself, but I miss my kids so much when I get it. It seems to be getting easier as they get older though. I'd also love a nap right now too! :)

  13. Longtime lurker but this post pulled me out of lurkdom. My babies are not babies anymore but they are 16,14, and 12 and my girl is in the middle. We found out when our oldest was 5 that he had major undiagnosed congenital heart defects. You'd never know if now, after multiple surgeries over 8 years including 1000 mile trip to Boston Children's 3 times he is finally doing great. My husband is very content with our 3 because he said everybody has a special place, one is the oldest, the only girl is not lost as a middle child, and the youngest gets spoiled as thebaby. I would have probably had more kids but he has good logic and we do have bills to pay. These 3 are so close and get along more than they
fight so it's all good. I've always homeschooled them and we are finishing up year 11. Enjoy your babies. I know people tell you this but they will grow up way too quickly. I am trying to make myself remember that now with my own big kids, I know these teenage years are fleeting as well.
