Gifted

Ivy got a new doll for Christmas. A very special, handmade, beautiful doll (we don't have any good pics of the two of them together, so those will have to come later).

I was so excited about this doll. And so was Sylas. The two of us shared a few sneak peeks together before she went into hiding. After giving her a big squeeze, Sylas said to me, "Mommy, I want a boy doll."

How could I refuse? He wanted a buddy and I was going to get one for him. The only problem is, the dolls are VERY difficult to come by...and there are fewer boys than girls. My computer fingers really aren't fast enough. The odds were against me.

I posted on a Facebook page that I was looking for a boy doll for my son. I wasn't picky on the hair or eye color, but I am truly in disbelief over the events that transpired after that. A woman saw Sy's pic and messaged me wanting to give Sylas the doll she had purchased for her daughter.

She said as soon as it arrived, she knew it was meant for someone else. And let me tell you, this doll is Sy's twin.

He was immediately given the name Charlie Brown...Charlie for short. And my goodness, Sy and Charlie are buds. Thank you sweet new friend from Texas.

You are truly inspiring.

For those who are wondering, Charlie was made by Nancy of Dragonfly's Hollow. Her dolls are GORGEOUS!

Wow - that is such a wonderful story! I am so happy for Sy!

Did Charlie already have the matching glasses or were they an add on? Either way, it is such a amazing resemblance.

I want one now!!

Anon - Charlie is a Dragonfly's Hollow doll. I added a link to the original post.

KS - The glasses were Sy's from when he was a baby. Sniff sniff. ;)

We had the same type of thing happen!!! II had posted an ISO for a boy doll under $50 for my foster son who is speech delayed and on autism spectrum.... I later receieved a message from a mom 1/2 way across the world who wanted to BUY a doll for my sweet little guy. She had her eye on a special boy doll and said that she knew he was meant for someone special and she could knew it was our boy. I was hesitant to accept but was so blown away that I said yes and thank you a million times. I have to say that the dol we received is PERFECT for our little boy... and I am determined to pay it forward in the future.
