A Little Bit Like Home

Sweet refreshing. It comes JUST when you need it.

We spent a long weekend in Minnesota. And yes, we were there for the snow. Ivy was in love and ate her fill.

The entire weekend was spent with friends...many whom we haven't seen in over a year. We went to our old church and the love that we felt brought me to tears more than once. It was beautiful to watch Sylas as person after person came up to talk to him. Each one of them has a connection to him. They are invested.

These are people that walked with us, held our hands....held us when we thought we couldn't go on.

It felt like home.

And I think it will always feel like that no matter where we live.

Thank you, sweet Bethany Church friends. We love you.

*P.S. Noemi took our family photos while we there. Christmas cards here we come!!!

  1. I can't wait to see the pics Noemi took! She always does such a great job! Glad you were here for the snow!

  2. YAY! It was great to see you! Sylas was HILARIOUS with the toddlers. He was my bud for the morning. We had fun.

  3. So glad you had such a refreshing weekend - what a blessing. Continuing to pray for you, friend! If you're ever up for a visit, we'd love to get together with you and your little ones sometime.

  4. I LOVED seeing you guys again. Ivy is truly a sweetheart ( even if she prefers Michael to me) and Sylas still has my heart! We love you guys!

  5. It was so awesome to see you guys! Ever since seeing you, Ryan and Sy multiple random times at Calhoun Lake a while back just walking, we have wanted to hang out with you guys but obviously you moved not long after that. So we keep up through the blog. It was great seein you all and are blessed through the life journey you are on. Bless you guys!

  6. Ah! I was in Minnesota that weekend also! My brother and his family had an open house. I thought very fondly of Bethany church and college as well and wondered how many were still there that I knew. Such a lovely church family there...thank you bethany church for your beautiful example of the body of Christ.

  7. I loved having you in our home! And I'm happy to say that a few of your family pictures are now on the blog!

  8. The pictures are Period. Everyone looks fantastic. Glad you had a blast in the cities! We miss it there too. Maybe it's because that's where we fell in love... or maybe it's because that's where I grew deeper in my relationship with Father... but whatever the reason, a piece of my heart will forever be in Minnesota!

  9. Just saw the pics - they are fantastic (of course)!

I am glad you got a little refresher. Sometimes we all need that.

I hope you and your family all have a wonderful Thanksgiving! And give Syl and Ivy extra hugs for me.

    Love from Dallas,

  11. I just found your blog and I am now following.

Your story breaks my heart and makes me want to run to you and hug you and say all the right things to help you heal even though I can't really know what those things are.

My sister lost her daughter at the age of 3. I can't say I know what either of you feel but I know what it feels to miss a person who you loved more than anything in the world.

But thank you for posting your story and sharing. It reminds me that I have so much to be grateful for and I should really enjoy that.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share. I love hearing from you.

P.S. I'm sorry for the word verification step, but oh, my. I'm getting lots of spam.
