Still Beautiful.

My sweet babysitter (well, she's more of a friend) came over yesterday so I could have some alone time. It's been going ok without Ryan at home, but this mama needed a break.

So I went to Target.

It started out pleasant. I ran into an old friend, grabbed some Starbucks, then started browsing the clearance racks, which I never get to do when I have the children.

As I was browsing, a woman said to me, "I'm trying to find something fashionable to wear while pregnant and it looks like you are too."

Uh, no.

And awkward.

I came home and read this post. I miss my husband.

  2. So I got all excited to read about your adventures at Target (that stores just sucks my money dry!!), but then you ended it....

But you and I both know the truth: you are beautiful and I thank God for His presence in your life, and for giving you a wonderful husband who reminds you of your beauty.

    take it easy!!

  4. I agree...you ARE beautiful, Bri! Hope you enjoyed your little alone time nonetheless. I know how precious that is (and how it saves our sanity most days). I think my hubby is finally catching on. When he returned from a bike ride the other night, I was obviously frazzled and he very sweetly said, "Why don't you go somewhere by yourself for a little while? I can take the kids." Sweetest words I ever did hear. ;) Of course, I couldn't actually go anywhere except the basement or kitchen since my son very much needs his mommy at night, but that was all I needed at that moment.

  6. I'm sorry for that hurtful comment. Satan always knows where our weak spots are, and he often uses unsuspecting individuals to hit us in them. You are beautiful, and I don't think you look pregnant at all in any of your pictures. I'll be glad when your husband gets home again. :-)

  9. I've been a lurker for a while but I HAD to speak up when I read this blog. That lady was obviously insane! Either you have a magic camera or you are no where near looking pregnant! You look great in all your photos. In all honesty, I'm very impressed with how well you look considering you had 6 babies in there at once! I've never seen/met you, but I'm guessing you look even better in person. Take it with a grain of salt...she needs to get some glasses and you need to grab an espresso and smile...because you're beautiful. - Holly, MN.-

  10. I had gone to the grocery store once with my daughter and my babysitter (also a friend) and her daughter. The cashier thought my friend was my MOTHER and the girl was only about 5 years older than me.

I agree that none of your pictures would lead me to think you are pregnant. Some people just have no perception.

  12. I just have to agree with everyone else. I don't understand what possess strangers to make comments like that. Argh. Don't let it get to you!

    Bless you today.

  15. Someone once told me: Never, EVER assume a woman is pregnant unless you can see the baby coming out of her! Wish that Target woman would have known that advice! She probably meant well. I'm 3 months postpardum and still look very pregnant. I don't know that it will ever go away. Sending you love, Bri.
