Rockin Green (a Giveaway)

I've now been cloth diapering for about five months months and I still love it! We use disposables in a pinch (or when I'm lazy), but I love the feeling I get when I go through a whole day only using cloth. Maybe I need a life if that's what gives me a rush.

Hmmm...

Anyway, like I said, I love it, but there have been a few bumps along the road. Our main obstacle has been washing the stinky critters. We have hard water and a high efficiency washing machine, which is a double death for diapers. I tried EVERYTHING and still, as soon as urine hit those puppies, the stench of ammonia was enough to knock your socks off. Frustrating! I've been talking it over with a dear friend and she mentioned she was going to order a sample of a soap called Rockin Green that was getting rave reviews. I took a look at the website and it was like Kim, the owner of Rockin Green was talking to me. Right at the top of the homepage it reads:

"Are you sick and tired of battling with stinky diapers?"

YES.YES.YES. was my answer, so I ordered a sample. And I'm in love. With a soap. After a 1 hour soak and a wash, my diapers smelled like glorious nothing. Ah-mazing.

Do you have stinky diapers? Do you need this soap? Well, you're in luck.

Kim from Rockin Green (she's seriously great) has offered to give away a 45/90 load bag in the scent of choice to one of YOU! I've tried the cherry almond and it smelled so yummy I wanted to eat it, but I didn't. I'm now waiting for the 2 bags of peppermint cocoa I got for a steal on black Friday. I'm not sure if I want to try the Lavender Vanilla or Mango Sorbet the next time. They all sound so divine. Sigh...

Oh. Sorry. Back to the giveaway. You have two chances to enter, so be sure to leave a separate comment for each entry.

1. Go to Rockin Green's website, then come back here and tell me what scent your dying to try.

2. Follow me on Twitter and tweet:

RT @brimo I want to rock the soak. http://bit.ly/7Py6tK Rockin Green soap giveaway.

Then leave another comment on this post letting me know you tweeted.

Even if you don't cloth diaper, please feel free to enter. This soap can be used for a plethora of other stinky things. I just did a load of kitchen wash clothes that smelled of mold as soon as water touched them and of course, Rockin Green did it's magic. I may start calling this stuff stinky-be-gone.

I'll choose a winner via random.org sometime after 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, December 5. And not to worry. If you don't win, Kim is offering 10% off of everything in her shop. Just use the code RockinHoliday.

Sorry my international friends, but due to shipping costs, this giveaway is only open to U.S. residents.

This contest is now closed!!!

Ooh Oooh Ooooh! I think it's a toss up between Fresh Linen & Lavender Vanilla for me. Yum-me!!
I've been (mostly) cloth diapering my youngest 2, and LOVE it too (when I'm not lazy, too:). In fact, I got the code for my g-diaper deals from your blog, thank you!
Your babies are beautiful ~ thanks for "sharing" them.

I love the Buttercream scent in Yankee Candles so I'd like to try that one. I bet it would smell glorious! My friend tried this detergent in the unscented and said that even smelled good! :) I have been dying to try this!

I'd try peppermint cocoa...with the Holiday season upon us, why not make doing laundry festive, too?! :)

Peppermint Cocoa!

I think the lavendar vanilla and the butter cream sound the best.

I don't have cloth diapers, but I do sure have smelly towels sometimes.

This would be fun because we have been buying the "cheap boring scented" laundry soap.

Hi! I would like to try the unscented version, because Josiah has sensitive skin. We cloth diaper both our kids so we wash a lot of diapers! I have noticed a stink once in a while, but then I just strip the diapers with vinegar. I make my own detergent, but it would be great to use a detergent that didn't build up a stink problem in the first place! Thanks for posting!

I am dying to try any of the scents but my poor little man's skin is so sensitive he can't handle scents so we buy the soft rock unscented. We LOVE Rockin Green so far it is the only detergent that got rid of the stinkies & has kept them away AND has been excellent for my son's skin!

The Cherry Lemondade sounds wonderful. They all sound great, but I'm not eating sweets for a few weeks, and they make me really hungry. LOL.

I'm glad you have found an answer to your stinky diapers!

I think the cherry almond sounds amazing! We don't cloth diaper, but some (well a lot) of Cohen's clothes end up smelling pretty awful.

I don't have a diaper issue BUT my mother is incontinent and we were having a problem getting the smell out of her clothes. The lady at the nursing home told us the secret... and you won't believe it but it is Pinesol. She said you add it to the wash with your regular soap and it gets the smell out. Now I know you are thinking your clothes will smell like Pinesol, but they don't. Of course it won't leave the peppermint cocoa smell or lavender vanilla (both of which sound delightful) but it is a low cost solution.

Hgrace said...

I am in LOVE with Rockin Green, it's the only thing that has worked for my hard water as well! I would love to try the Monkey Snacks, yummy! :)

Lisa said...

@dirtpuddle tweeted you, too! Didn't realize I could enter BOTH ways!

Brianna said...

KSDallas,

Thanks for the suggestion. I never thought of using pinesol, but I don't think I'd use it on diapers as it is very toxic and would not be good for a baby's sensitive bottom. The fact that all of Rockin Green's ingredients are safe and natural is enough to make me pay the extra cash.

I have been struggling with my stinky cloth diapers all week - even put a plea for help out to the twittersphere. So my question about this method is - what about front loading washers? You can't soak. Any ideas??

And thank you, by the way, for the thoughtful and kind comments you left on my blog. I'm so glad I clicked back over here!

Admit to now being addicted to Sugar Cookie!

I am a huge vanilla fan so I would also go with the buttercream. My 2 year old is potty trained during the day, but not at night. So I sometimes let her night diapers go a little longer- since I only end up washing 2 or 3 at a time! So this might help with the occassional lingering stink (which I just do a last rinse with vinegar and we are fine but buttercream would be better to smell!).
I did want to tell you that I did email you and I appreciated your comment on my blog. Out little bean had no heartbeat last Friday and we said goodbye. We are dealing with this 2nd loss as well as I think we can. We know that eventualy we will have a 2nd, whether through adoption or through pregnancy.
