Decisions Decisions

Ryan and I are facing some really tough decisions regarding medical treatments for Sylas and we need prayer! Last week, I took Sy to see a physical medicine and rehabilitation doctor and walked away in a bit of a shock, as he was proposing more aggressive treatments than I had been expecting. Since then, Sylas has seen two different physical therapists, and both of them respectfully disagree with this doctor's treatment plan.

Before becoming a mother, I thought my hardest decision would be whether or not to feed my baby homemade or store bought baby food. While we parents make very important decisions every day, I never expected the consequences of the decisions Ryan and I have made and continue to make to have such weighty outcomes. We need so much wisdom from the Lord!

I'm going to call the physical med doctor today to revisit his reasons for the treatment plan he's prescribed and Ryan and I are also hoping to find another doc with whom we can get a second opinion. Hopefully things will start to look clearer soon.

  1. Thinking of you. Hoping you'll be guided to the best decision.

  2. I will be praying for you guys. I hope that you don't have to choose anything surgical for Sylas. How is he getting along with his walker?

  3. Father, thank you for continually walking with this sweet family. I know that You perfectly made Sylas and that You know exactly what steps should be taken to promote his development. Please give Brianna and Ryan divine direction in their decisions in the coming days and surround them with the unspeakable peace that only You can give. Thank you for having the answers when we don't. In Your name, Amen.

  4. I have the utmost faith that you and Ryan will choose the best for Sylas. You are already doing so much by searching for all the possible answers. I'll be thinking of the family and hope that you'll find your answers soon.

  5. know that what ever you do God is always there.

  6. Brianna and Ryan,
Being a parent of a child with special challenges is both amazing and difficult. Have heart that time is on your side and Sweet Sylas has made tremendous progress already. If we can ever be of support please ask.
I appreciate your willingness to share your thoughts and feelings. I haven't stopped thinking of your family.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share. I love hearing from you.

P.S. I'm sorry for the word verification step, but oh, my. I'm getting lots of spam.
