Happy Homecoming

After a busy couple of weeks, I have much to write about, but before the day is over, I want to make sure to say "Happy Anniversary of your Homecoming" to Sylas. Our sweet boy has now been home for a year and wow what a ride. Today has been a great reminder of how far he has come. It's so easy to get caught up in the things he is behind in or can't yet do, but today I'm in awe of what he CAN do (thank you to my wonderful reader who reminded me of this). He can breathe on his own, he can crawl, he can laugh, his smile makes everything better and he's stronger than any person I've ever known.

Mommy and Daddy love you so much Little Bug. You are our delight and your determination inspires and amazes us.

I love reading your blog- every time I read it I tear up a little:) Not because of any of the set-backs but because of how great God is and every time I see that sweet little face it reminds me. 4. What a great outlook you have!
It is easy to think about the things that he can't do yet or what you think he should be doing. I do it all of time with one of the girls who were born 2 days after Sylas. And I really should stop and look at what she is doing at 16 months old and how happy she is.

Happy One Year at Home! I know that that is a HUGE milestone for all of you.

    God Bless You!

  10. What a wonderful day to celebrate! Has he reached his 1 year adjusted birthday? Wasn't in October?

We still have the calendar on the wall when our son came home from the NICU (6 years ago)! I just can't take it down or turn the page. It is a day I will never forget.

Hope you're getting settled in your new home.

LOVE the fuzz on Sylas's head in the first picture!!!

  12. As one who has followed your story for so long, and prayed with you for over the past year...I thought I'd "de-lurk" and say congratulations on such a wonderful anniversary! Sylas is looking amazing, and God has truly blessed your family even through these trials. You are such an inspiration. Keep on keepin' on...you are an example to so many.
