Sylas Goes to the Park

The other day we went to the park with some friends and Sylas went in an outdoor swing for the first time in his life. He had so much fun! I'm not sure why we haven't done this before, but we will definitely be taking advantage of the park for the rest of the summer.

By the way, Sylas is doing awesome with his glasses. He wears them almost every minute that he's awake. He's always been a pretty happy guy, but he's even happier now. It will be interesting to see how much faster he learns and picks up on things now that he can see!!! Thanks to everyone for their encouraging words about how cute he looks! We wholeheartedly agree.

  1. Wow Sylas you're such a big boy!! He looks so cute in the swing. I'm so happy that he can see well now. I love you guys. Come visit soon.

  2. Wow! I heard about this precious baby on K-Love. I think his Grandpa called in. What a joy!!! I'd love to see the pics from early on when he was just a little thing. I can't believe it! 22 weeks!? Do you know how many babies are aborted at this age and their mothers are told that it's just "the products of conception"?! Incredible. Thanks for sharing.

  3. I'm glad that we got to share that moment with him! As always Syguy you are so handsome- and seriously those glasses peg you as a charmer!

  4. He is just too cute. Those glasses are adorable. what a precious boy!! Thanks for sharing him through this blog. I heard of your story through the Hache's & the Hills then followed it through Noemi's blog. It is such a blessing to be able to keep up with his continued journey on here.

  5. Brianna,

I followed the beginning of your story and my heart broke as I heard news of your babies going to heaven. I just found your new blog and am so, so, so happy to see Sylas doing so well. I am mom to a 23w0d surviving twin born in April 2006. The water for our little angel Rachel broke at 18 weeks about a day after I lost my mucous plug due to an incompetent cervix. Rachel went on to defy on what the doctors said (which was that everything was going to be over soon) and lived for 5 more weeks inside me and saved her brother Isaac. Isaac and Rachel were born at 23w0d. Rachel went into the arms of Jesus after spending 102 precious minutes with us. Isaac came home after 6 months in NICU and is now a very happy toddler. We also have a new full term baby Abigail after a lot of worrying (and trying hard to trust in the Lord) for 8 months or so.

    Our blog is at

Also, if you are interested, there is a yahoo group called PreemieBlog Moms - its a group for micropreemie parents. There is a lot of collective experience and expertise on micropreemie parenting among the members of this group. Because I couldn't find a Christian-based support group for micropreemie parents after looking for quite a while, I recently decided to start a yahoo group as well called ChristianMicroPreemieParenting. Its still very small (we currently only have 15 members) but wanted to let you know just in case you are interested.

    God bless,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share. I love hearing from you.

P.S. I'm sorry for the word verification step, but oh, my. I'm getting lots of spam.
